With this project I explored RBD sims in Houdini using scanned assets from the Quixel Megascans library for material creation.
I plugged the assets into Houdini, scattered them and simulated a pile, made them tileable, baked and exported the texture maps.
These maps are then imported in Substance 3D Designer where I do some retouching and adjustments.
Renders of this project have been made in Marmoset Toolbag.
Post grading has been done in Affinity and DaVinci Resolve.
